a lifeline for special needs pets

Flora came to us from a rural KY shelter. She has some hearing difficulties but we think she can hear certain pitches and sounds. We believe she was used for breeding purposes so she looked really rough when she came to us. She is super sweet and a very low maintenance girl!

Pawsavers is a a volunteer based rescue based in Central Ohio. Our mission is to give special needs pets a platform to find the loving home they deserve or provide a "last stop" where they can enjoy the rest of their life without worry. "Special needs" encompasses any of the following - deaf, blind, elderly, paralyzed, etc... Although we specialize in differently abled pups, we do not close our doors to other "normal" dogs in need. Our amazing pups deserve the chance at wonderful homes and we are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to give that to them. Please help us in our journey of education and rescue!

What is a "Double Merle"?

All proceeds go towards helping the amazing pups - vet bills, food, supplies, etc!

When two Merle colored pups are bred, each puppy has a 25% chance of being born Double Merle. These puppies have excessive white coloration – lack of pigment – and this coloration causes loss of hearing, vision, or any combination of the two impairments. Most often, we find these puppies to be deaf, with vision impairments ranging from malformed pupils to a complete lack of eyeballs.
